The Aquatics Director is responsible for the development, implementation, supervision, administration and evaluation of the aquatics department. Duties include staff supervision, program oversight and development.  The Aquatics Director ensures the aquatics experience is safe, fun, and enjoyable for members and program participants. Key deliverables for this position include safety and risk management of our aquatic environment, high-quality drowning prevention, and swim lesson programming.

Requirements: CPR and First Aid Certification – we will certify.

Duties include teaching swim lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines to individuals of all ages, following lesson plans, and completing progress reports/certificates for participants. Applicants must have a strong swimming background and stamina, demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, and be dependable. Candidates must be 15 years of age. Hours:                   Part-time, flexible schedule

Rate:                     $9.00 – $10.00 hourly (depending on qualifications)

Requirements: Lifeguard Certification, CPR, and First Aid Certification – we will certify.

Lifeguards must monitor swimmers both on the deck and in the water and provide assistance and protection when necessary. Candidates must be 15 years of age, able to demonstrate 300 yards continuous swim using front crawl and breaststroke, tread water for 2 minutes without using arms, and be able to retrieve a 10lb weight from 7 feet of water. Must model the YMCA core values. If 18 years of age will qualify for training to lifeguard at the beachfront.
