Competitive Team
What is the difference between Progressive and Competitive Gymnastics?• Progressive gymnastics is more about skill development. It is a little more laid back, social, and relaxed.
• Competitive gymnastics works to build routines, build confidence, showcase skills, and push to the limit.
Why Now?
• We have an experienced coaching staff
• Lynette Tutt – Head Coach, 30+ years coaching beginner to college level athletes
• Kristina Aschenbrenner – Assistant Coach, coached at the Y for 6+ years at all levels
• We want to be prepared to have a full team once the new gym is built.
• We are able to practice in the Dome.
• In 2021 we are inviting any Level 3+ gymnasts to join the team if they are looking for a challenge.
• Depending on the amount of Level 3 gymnasts, select Level 2 gymnasts may be invited to join.
• We want to make sure everyone on the team is prepared both physically and mentally to join the team.
• Any level 2 gymnasts that are not invited to join the team will be invited to join the pre-competitive team.
• High School and Middle School students may be on the team but participation during the “School Season” is limited. We encourage you to participate fully on your school team. The Y is here to supplement and develop not compete against the school.
