The YMCA of the Northwoods implements a strict honor code based on our core values: honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility. Members who fail to follow these guidelines will have their 24-hour access (and potentially their entire membership) revoked without a refund. The 24-hour access rules are designed to ensure the safety and security of all members. Any violation of these rules or values will be considered a breach of our mission.

-One Time $25 Activation Fee (Due at time of key fob activation)
-$5.00/month (This maintenance fee is added to your membership balances and will be processed on the draft date you’ve selected for your membership dues.)
Facility Usage & Hours
As a member with 24-hour access, you may use the Wellness Center and gymnasium of the YMCA at any time. The rest of the YMCA is only accessible during operational hours. If bringing dependents in with you, please be advised of the age requirements associated with each area. Outside of operational hours, only YMCA of the Northwoods members 18 and older who have signed a 24-hour access waiver and purchased a key fob will have access. Dependents 17 years and younger are also allowed access with direct supervision of an approved parent/guardian will have access. The names of these dependents must be included on your waiver for them to be allowed entry after hours. Please see our operational hours below.

Age Requirements
Please review the following age requirements for 24-hours access. If policies are violated, both the child and parent/guardian will lose access to 24-hour privileges.
–Ages 0-11: May access the gymnasium under direct supervision of a parent or guardian on the same family membership. May also access the Wellness Center track with an adult next to them.
–Ages 12-17: May access the facility with an approved parent or guardian over the age of 18 on the same membership account. May access the gymnasium independently with the approved guardian in the facility. May access the full Wellness Center and use all equipment independently after obtaining a Teen Wellness Certification. Without the certification, youth may use the track, cardio & weight machines with an adult next to them at all times.
–Ages 18 and Older: Eligible for their own key fob and must apply for 24-hour access to use the facility outside of staffed hours. May access the Gymnasium and Wellness Center independently.
Safety & Security
Your 24-hour key fob is for your personal use only and each person entering the facility is required to scan their own 24-hour fob before entering. Allowing others into the facility is prohibited. Granting access to another individual, even if they are a 24/7 member who has forgotten their key fob at home, is strictly prohibited. Violating this rule will result in the loss of 24-hour access and possible membership termination.
Please note that while our facility is accessible 24/7, there are no staff members on-site outside of operational hours. For your safety, emergency phones are available at the Welcome Center and in the Wellness Center should you need to make a 911 call. We recommend familiarizing yourself with these locations before using the facility to ensure you’re prepared in case of an emergency. Emergency personnel will be able to access the building after hours. We strongly encourage everyone utilizing 24/7 to take necessary precautions to prepare for possible emergency situations, including working out with a partner. Having a workout partner can ensure quicker access to first aid assistance and contact to EMS professionals if needed. All 24/7 access areas within the facility are under video surveillance.
Surveillance footage is reviewed daily to ensure prompt responses to safety and security concerns.
Some parking lot lights will remain on after hours. We advise you to park in well-lit areas for your safety.
Snow removal will only occur during staffed hours. Members with 24-hour access assume the risk of entering the facility in inclement weather conditions.
Key Fobs
24-hour access is available only to members of the YMCA of the Northwoods, including Insurance-Based Members that have our branch listed as their home base. This access is not available for AWAY, Nationwide, or One Wisconsin program members. Each member 18 years and older must purchase and use their own key fob for entry outside of staffed hours. Members aged 0-17 are not eligible to obtain their own key fob. Sharing key fobs is strictly prohibited and will result in revocation of 24-hour access and possible termination of membership. Members wishing to use 24-hour access must sign a liability waiver and purchase a key fob at the Welcome Center during staffed hours.
This key fob is linked to your membership and will remain active as long as your membership is current. Past due membership balances of 30 days will result in 24/7 access being disabled until paid. If a key fob is lost or damaged, members should notify the YMCA immediately. A replacement key fob can be purchased for $25. Access to the facility is suspended until a replacement key fob is activated.
To access the building, hold the key fob in front of the reader located right outside the front entrance door. Ensure the door closes behind you and do not hold it open for others. When the door unlocks, pull it open within 5 seconds. To exit, use the same door. The emergency exits are to be used for emergencies only and are not to be used to enter or leave the building during 24-hour use.
Guest Policy
Guests are not permitted to use the facility during 24-hour access times without obtaining a membership, signing necessary waivers, and purchasing a 24/7 key fob. Guests are welcome to use the YMCA of the Northwoods during staffed hours with a guest pass. Members found providing access to guests outside of staffed hours will lose their 24-hour access privileges and may face termination of membership.
