Our Teen Wellness Certification teaches teens ages 12-17 how to workout safely and effectively within the YMCA’s Wellness Center. Once individuals have successfully completed the program, they will be allowed to workout in the Wellness Center without parental supervision. Must be a member or have a Guest & Participant Liability form filled out by the legal parent/guardian.

6th Grade Initiative Sign Up Opened August 1st!

The YMCA of the Northwoods has an opportunity for YOU! With the 6th Grade Initiative (6GI) the Y will offer ALL 6th graders in Oneida County a FREE youth membership for your 6th grade school year up to your first day of 7th grade. This free membership offers 6th graders the chance to realize their potential and become active, engaged members of their community.

Teen Nights

Babysitter Training Course
Are your teens (ages 11 and older) ready to take on the role of a babysitter? This class incorporates hands-on activities as well as educational materials to give students a well-rounded class xperience. Students who successfully complete this course will leave the class with a YMCA Certified Babysitting Certificate, CPR/First Aid certification, and the knowledge and tools needed to successfully navigate their first babysitting job. Not only will your teen learn how to engage with children while keeping them safe, but they will also learn the importance of good business practices and how to effectively communicate with parents.
Teen Advisory Council
The YMCA of the Northwoods Teen Advisory Council is a group of youths, 12 and older, that come together to help drive initiatives in the YMCA and throughout our community. Working directly with our CEO and Youth Development Coordinator, this council will help create programs and drive initiatives, while gaining valuable leadership and team-building skills. Summer Day Camp & Leaders In Training (L.I.T)
Optional enrollment in our Leaders In Training (LIT) program for youth ages 10-13. LIT will have a fun summer developing their leadership skills and building self-confidence. Their skills will be used to help support YMCA Camp Counselors and interact with youth enrolled in our Day Camp program. Click here for additional information.
