YMCA Golden Adventures Snow Condition Challenge - FREE to Everyone
Tuesday, March 16
The monthly meeting of the YMCA Golden Adventures will be held on Tuesday, March 16 at noon at the YMCA. It is called the snow condition challenge because the activity will be determined by the snow conditions. Bring your snowshoes, x country skies or hiking boots and ice grippers. The group will use the YMCA Stoney Pines Trail or hike. The adventure will be approximately one and a half hours. Following the adventure the group will meet at Sandy Bergman’s house for a chili dump. Bring 2 cups of chili to share. Dessert and drinks will be provided. This free program is open to anyone in the community and meets the third Tuesday of the month for a variety of activities.

Parent’s Morning Out
Ages 6 weeks to 10 years
Have an appointment and need child care?The YMCA can help watch your child while you enjoy a morning out. While you are away your child can enjoy a morning of fun in Adventure Alley. Please make sure your child has eaten something before coming.

Snowshoeing - MVP

Snowshoe by the light of the moon! Bring your own snowshoes, or there will be snowshoes for use. For people of all ages and snowshoe experience. Mel’s Trading Post staff will be there to teach you how to fit snowshoes and basic snowshoeing techniques. If you need snowshoes, pre-registration is required. After the snowshoe, sit by the fire and warm up with hot chocolate! YMCA’s Stoney Pines Trail

This is the foundation for all YMCA group fitness instructors. It cover the basics of exercise science, cueing, and member service. Enrollment is limited to the first 20 participants.

Middle Eastern Dance Class and Hafla

A Halfa is a party thrown by belly dancers involving Middle Eastern music, dance performances, workshop, drumming, open dancing, and a social time with henna tattoo and middle eastern snacks.

Healthy Kids Day
Saturday, April 17
Join the YMCA for a free family health information and activity day. As part of the YMCA’s Activate America initiative, this special event promotes physical activity, nutrition and health education. Numerous community organizations will be on hand to answer children’s health questions, provide valuable information about services, and teach children how to be healthy. A bounce house, gymnastics, climbing wall, and martial arts will be just a few of the activities available.

Join us in celebrating values vital to our community’s future. Teachers, counselors, coaches, neighbors, family and friends are just a few examples of individuals who are encouraged to nominate teens to receive a YMCA Character Award. Please nominate teens that meet the following criteria:
- Nominees must be between 12 and 18 years of age
- Enrolled in Junior/Senior high school during the current school year (including those who are home schooled)
- Reside in Oneida, Vilas, Forest or Lincoln county
Progressive Dinner Friday, May 14 Join us for an evening of fine food, great fun, interesting conversation, with limited travel. In addition we will have door prizes for guests in attendance. Child care will be included in the price of the ticket. Mark your calendar today.

Senior Health & Fitness Day
Friday, May 22
Celebrate National Senior Health & Fitness Day at the YMCA. The goal for this day is to make exercise fun, to increase awareness of the benefits of a regular exercise program for older adults, and to encourage all older adults to take advantage of the many health and fitness programs offered in the community. Information on speakers and activities will be advertised.
Women’s Night Out
An evening for women of all ages that will encompass fellowship, spiritual awakening and mindful activity. Date and time to be determined.

3 on 3 Basketball
Saturday, June 12
A 3-on-3 basketball tournament is an event where a set number of basketball teams compete to determine a winning team. Each basketball team plays with three players on the court at the same time. Come join the fun!

Family Outdoor Adventures
Monday June 14th – August 9th 5:30-7:00PM
This class is designed for students who love the Northwoods outdoors. You will learn outdoor survival skills, camping, orienteering, and backpacking. At the end of class enjoy an overnight camping trip on the YMCA grounds. Come dressed for outdoor activities rain or shine.

Chase the Hodag Kids Run - FREE!

In conjunction with the Hodag Run for Your Life we are offering a free 1/2 mile kids run around the courthouse in Rhinelander. Register at the Hodag Run starting location on the day of the race beginning at 9:30 AM. Special appearance by the Hodag!

The Hodag Run/Walk begins and ends in StevensPort Square near the courthouse in Rhinelander. Pre registration is $25 and must be received by 7:00PM June 18. Fee after June 18 is $35. Registration forms and a course map are available at the YMCA, on our web site, or active.com. All registered participants receive a T-shirt. Age bracket medals awarded.

Northwoods Grandparents University - Camping Day
Saturday, July 31
Recommended for grandparents/stand-in grandparents/parents, and a child 7-12 years of age.
Enjoy an outdoor adventure as you build that special relationship. It will be a day filled with memorable moments. Activities include orienteering, wildlife ecology, astronomy, creative arts, swimming and more. Fee includes lunch and snacks.

10 Annual Golf Scramble

Our 10th Annual Golf Scramble to benefit the Strong Kids Campaign is at the Pinewood Country Club. It is a four person scramble and you can register as a team or individual. Includes 18 holes, cart, lunch and dinner with team, hole and raffle prizes.
