A lifeguard is always on duty

Children age 5 and under must have an adult in the Young boy enjoying the slide at the pool.water with them. Playing with your child in the pool will be a memory they will always cherish.The YMCA offers swim lessons for the very young through the active older years! (ages 6months to 100)

Pool Rules and Expectations

Lifeguards have to watch all swimmers not just younger swimmers. Children under 10 should be under adult supervision

Feet first jumping is allowed from the 5 ft. deep end only, no flips, twists, or dives.

All swimmers should wear appropriate swim suits, no cut-offs or street clothes.

Be Caring

  • Always walk, the deck can get slippery.

  • No dunking, pushing, throwing, chicken fights or other potentially dangerous rough play allowed.

  • Non-swimmers should stay in the shallow end unless they are with a responsible adult.

  • Lifeguards have to watch all swimmers not just younger swimmers. Children under 10 should be under adult supervision

  • Leave personal toys and flotation devices at home, we provide appropriate toys and flotation devices.

  • Put away all equipment or toys used.

Be RespectfulLearning to kayak

  • Follow the pool schedule and enter during designated times.

  • Share lap lanes if necessary.

  • Stay in designated lanes when lap swimming during class times.

  • Lap lanes should be used for lap swimming, no playing.

  • Toys and equipment should be used properly.

  • Keep conversations to appropriate levels and topics.

Be Honest

  • Lap swims are for adults and kids swimming laps. When doing your own exercise program

  • Open swims are open to any activities, including jumping and playing and may be very noisy

  • Swimmers must stay in lap lanes during water excersize classes

Aquatic Severe Weather Policy

Weather is a concern in the everyday operations of the YMCA pool.  When severe weather is expected in the area all YMCA staff will keep an eye out for lightning.  When lightning is spotted from the YMCA in any direction, the lifeguards shall clear the pool area and lock the pool doors.  Neither patrons nor lifeguards will be allowed in the pool area until the storm passes and/or the lifeguards determine the lightning has ended and it is safe to reenter the pool.

Lightning Strikes = 20 minutes of pool closure.
