Pool Rules and Expectations
Lifeguards have to watch all swimmers not just younger swimmers. Children under 10 should be under adult supervision
Feet first jumping is allowed from the 5 ft. deep end only, no flips, twists, or dives.
All swimmers should wear appropriate swim suits, no cut-offs or street clothes.
Be Caring

Always walk, the deck can get slippery.

No dunking, pushing, throwing, chicken fights or other potentially dangerous rough play allowed.

Non-swimmers should stay in the shallow end unless they are with a responsible adult.

Lap swims are for adults and kids swimming laps. When doing your own exercise program

Open swims are open to any activities, including jumping and playing and may be very noisy

Swimmers must stay in lap lanes during water exercise classes

Aquatic Severe Weather Policy
Weather is a concern in the everyday operations of the Y pool. When severe weather is expected in the area all Y staff will keep an eye out for lightning. When lightning is spotted from the Y in any direction, the lifeguards shall clear the pool area and lock the pool doors. Neither patrons nor lifeguards will be allowed in the pool area until the storm passes and/or the lifeguards determine the lightning has ended and it is safe to reenter the pool.
Lightning Strikes = 20 minutes of pool closure.

Maintenance Schedule - Whirlpool is drained and refilled on the 1st and 15th of each month.
