Welcome to the Eagle River Program Center. We are located in the Northland Pines High School and offer a wide variety of fitness programs and a full fitness center.

Fitness Coaches
Fitness Coaches available in the fitness center to help you with a workout program.

Walking in the field house is free in the mornings from 8:00AM-3:00PM when there are no other school activities.

The outdoor track is available at any time free of charge.

Northland Pines Students
Northland Pines Students 6-12 grades may workout during all YMCA supervised hours for free.
No children under 6th grade allowed in fitness center.

Wellness Coach
Location - YMCA Eagle River
Hours - Part Time Evenings 10-18 hours per week
Rate - $8.50 minimum based on qualifications
Duties Include-Wellness Center Fitness Coach will provide orientations to the Wellness Center facility to members and guests, help members build effective fitness programs, ensure proper use of equipment, and work with members using the Coach Approach protocol. A degree or background in recreation, fitness, physical education or related field is highly recommended, along with an understanding of the basics of strength, cardiovascular, flexibility and personal training.  This person must also possess a high level of maturity, enthusiasm, and self-direction and model the YMCA core values.

Volunteer Positions

Drop-in Babysitting
Location - Eagle River Adventure Alley
Duties Include - Must have a desire to work with youth ages 6 weeks to 9 years of age. Must be responsible, a good role model, active, willing to play games, a good leader, and help enforce rules when need be.
Requirements - Must be 13 years of age or older.

History

2002-2005

  • Project Victory - The YMCA offers programs at the Northland Pines Elementary and Middle School.

2004

  • Branch board was formed - Larry Hicks, Chair.

  • After school is offered for children from Kindergarten through 5th grade at the Northland Pines School District.

2006

  • YMCA Summer Camp offered in Eagle River.

  • Summer Enrichment Program.

  • Adult group exercise program begins (boot camp, cycling, step, yoga).


2007

  • Signed lease agreement with Northland Pines School District.

  • Pines Fitness Center membership began.

2008

  • $25,000 raised - Feasibility Study conducted.

  • Full time director on site.

  • Swim lessons provided at beach.

2009

  • Membership stands at nearly 300 members.

  • Founder’s Campaign launched - Dr. Darrin and Tara Gremban, Chair.
