Aquatics Director

Location:              YMCA Rhinelander

Hours:                   Full Time – Salary Exempt

The Aquatics Director is an essential part of a goal-oriented mission-focused team. The successful candidate must have a strong desire to be a part of the nation's largest non-profit human service organization and want to make a difference in our community.

Requirements: College or technical degree in athletic training, teaching, or fitness/health field is preferred. Competitive swimming experience a plus. Proven previous experience in a supervisory position, must work both independently and as part of a cohesive team.  Certification as a lifeguard, CPR and first aid required and instructional certification to teach lifeguarding and CPR/First aid within 6 months of hire.  YMCA swim instructor training will also be required. CPO certification a plus.

Duties: The Director of Aquatics ensures the aquatics experience is safe, fun, and enjoyable for members and program participants. Duties include staff supervision, program oversight, and development.  The position will implement new engagement activities, incentive programs, and special events. Overall the position will ensure quality swim instruction, aquatic programs, member satisfaction, and efficiently market their department with goals to increase program participation. Teach aquatic exercise or lifeguard as needed. Ensure pool facilities and equipment are safe, clean and operating correctly. Assume key team leader responsibilities including budget development and meeting goals of the organization. Must model the YMCA core values.

Wellness Director

The Health and Wellness Director is an essential part of a goal-oriented mission-focused team. The successful candidate must have a strong desire to be a part of the nation's largest non-profit human service organization and want to make a difference in our community.

Requirements: College or technical degree in exercise science, athletic training or sport/recreation is preferred. Minimum qualifications may include supervisory work experience in health and wellness, personal training or fitness instruction. Must have or obtain certification in group exercise or personal training within 6 months of hire. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience, PC skills, department budgetary knowledge, and work both independently and as part of a cohesive team

Duties: Duties include staff supervision; manage current programs, classes, and events.  The position will implement new community wellness programs, engagement activities, incentive programs, and special events. Overall the position will ensure quality programs, member satisfaction, and efficiently market their department with goals to increase program participation. Ensure equipment and program facilities are safe, clean and operating correctly. Explore and implement new, innovative group exercise programs. Teach group fitness classes and provide personal training as needed. Assume key team leader responsibilities including budget development and meeting goals of the organization. Must model the YMCA core values.

Personal Trainer

Location:             YMCA Rhinelander

Hours:                  Part-time flexible hours – mornings / afternoon / evenings / weekends

Rate:                    Hourly $12.00 to $15.00 based on qualifications

Duties: Develop, implement and instruct a variety of personal training and group training sessions for clients. Provide encouragement and expertise for the client in support of their health and well-being goals. Promote personal training programs and services while achieving monthly revenue and session goals. Administer, track and evaluate health history questionnaires, fitness assessments and other pre-participation documentation with regard to individual exercise programs. Follow Wellness Coach duties when not scheduled for personal training. This person must also possess a high level of maturity, enthusiasm, self-direction, and model the YMCA core values.

Qualifications: Nationally Accredited Personal Training Certification; ACSM, ACE, NSCA, NASM, or ISSA. CPR/PR/First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire. Demonstrated ability working with all age groups and ability levels.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Health/Exercise Science or related field. 1-year experience in the health and fitness field. 1-year experience Personal Training and/or Group Training.

 

Wellness Coach

Location:             YMCA Rhinelander

Hours:                  Part-time -  afternoon / evenings / weekends

Rate:                    Hourly $8.30 -$9.00 based on qualifications

Duties: This position will be providing members and guests, with resources to build effective fitness programs, and ensure proper use of equipment. A degree or background in recreation, fitness, physical education or related field is highly recommended, along with an understanding of the basics of strength, cardiovascular, flexibility, and personal training. We will consider training for the right candidate. This person must also possess a high level of maturity, enthusiasm, self-direction, and model the YMCA core values.

 

Day Camp Counselor - SUMMER

Location:              YMCA Rhinelander

Hours:                   Flexible days/times

Rate:                     $8.75 - $9.00 per hour

Education: Candidates must be 18 years of age and possess youth leadership experience, excellent communication skills, a cooperative attitude and the ability to work with and understand the needs of children.  Good health and vitality are necessary with an appreciation of outdoor living, nature, sports and camp setting is essential.

Duties: Serve as a leader and counselor to campers and participate in the planning and implementation of the day camp programming. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid or gain completion upon employment Must model the YMCA core values.

 

Welcome Center Associate

Location:              YMCA Rhinelander

Hours:                   Part-time – flexible schedule

Rate:                     Hourly $8.75 - $9.00 or based on qualifications

Education: HS or GED.  Must have strong computer skills and be literate in Word, Excel & Outlook

Duties: Be the welcome face of the YMCA of the Northwoods.  Great customer service skills. You must be able to multi-task and work independently. Must model the YMCA core values.

 

Childcare Teacher

Location:              Children’s Learning Center-Rhinelander

Hours:                   6:30AM to 5:30PM – Part-time (29 Hours Per Week)

Rate:                     $9.00 based on qualifications

Duties: Instruct children infants through preschool in activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth. Completed, enrolled in or willing to enroll in childcare courses to meet the State of Wisconsin Daycare Licensing Regulations. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50#, sit on the floor without support for up to an hour, walk 2-3 miles per day, reach, bend, crawl, twist, balance while providing custodial care of young children. Must model the YMCA core values.

 

Swim Instructor

Location:              YMCA Rhinelander

Hours:                   Part-time - flexible hours

Rate:                     Hourly $8.50 – $9.00 depending on qualifications

Requirements:      CPR certified, First Aid Certified – but will train

Duties: Teaching swim lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines to individuals of all ages, follow lesson plans and complete progress reports/certificates for participants. Applicants must have a strong swimming background and stamina, demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, and be dependable. Must model the YMCA core values.

 

Lifeguard

Location:              YMCA Rhinelander

Hours:                    Part-time

Rate:                      Hourly $8.50– 9.00 depending on qualifications

Requirements:        Lifeguard Certification Necessary. CPR and First Aid Certification training provided.

Duties: Lifeguard must monitor swimmers both on the deck and in the water and provide assistance and protection when necessary. Candidates must be 16 years of age, able to demonstrate 300 yards continuous swim using front crawl and breaststroke, tread water for 2 minutes without using arms and able to retrieve a 10lb weight from 7 feet of water. Must model the YMCA core values. If 18 years of age will qualify for training to lifeguard at beachfront.

 

Janitor-Housekeeping

Location:              YMCA Rhinelander or Children’s Learning Center

Hours:                   Part-time (primarily evenings but should be flexible for relief daytime and weekend)

Rate:                     Hourly $8.00 - $8.50

Duties: Keep the YMCA buildings clean and in orderly condition.  Perform cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing carpeting, washing walls and glass, cleaning bathrooms and locker room facilities, removing rubbish and doing laundry. Must model the YMCA core values
